Walk in love

And walk in love, 

as Christ loved us and 

gave Himself up for us,

a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

A new commandment

Love and joy perfected

 “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
 “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. He loved us first

We as Christians are the most blessed people on the planet because we are the only ones who know the love of Jesus.

In this is love, not that we loved God, 

but that He loved us and sent 

His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

1 John 4:10 NKJV

First love

We love Him because He first loved us.

I know that He loves me

Jesus, thank You for loving me

This week I would like to thank Jesus for His love. Too often I thank the Lord in a general way for His many blessings, but don't always praise Him specifically for His love and grace. It should, at the very least, be a part of my daily prayer. I should be in constant awe that He would even be able to love such a sinner as me. Please join me this week in remembering Jesus' love and sharing that love with everyone we meet.

 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: 

While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
