Put on love

 

Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. Unity of mind

 

I am so thankful and relieved that we didn't see the violence that was anticipated this past week. I am also exceedingly thankful for the men and women who serve in our National Guard. They are a blessing to our country.

Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. For

    and see good days,

let him keep his tongue from evil

Bless our nation

 

Let all the earth fear the Lord;

Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.

Pray for our nation

 

I read this on a church's website and it was perfect for what's on my heart this week, however, it didn't say what version it was. I looked up several and none of them were worded quite this way:

“I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray in this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.” 

1 Timothy 2:1-5

Compare to NIV:

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,

We need this prayer this week for our nation and our fellow Americans. Please join me in praying for all people.
