Teach your children well

Train up a child in the way he should go; 

even when he is old, he will not depart from it.

I'm very blessed to have two wonderful parents; they did a good job raising us (IMO) and my brother and I turned out pretty okay.  It's been a really difficult 7 months or so and I've felt fortunate to have a family that I can turn to. Be a blessing to your own children and witness the outcome.
