I have some family members who keep to themselves most of the time. No one knows why they don't come around so we speculate, usually assuming it's because of an overpowering spouse, or because someone said or did something years ago that hurt their feelings, or that the person(s) just doesn't like us (even though we're family and "like" has nothing to do with anything, in my book). But then something or someone will draw them out and they'll have a great time and we'll get to exchange stories and laugh and love one another. Why would anyone want to miss out on that? Contact the hermits of your family; don't let them slip through the cracks.
If you are having a dispute with a family member, resolve to work it out right now. Reach out. Tomorrow will never come. There's only today.
Bearing with one another and,
if one has a complaint against another,
forgiving each other;
as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Colossians 3:13 ESV
