This verse made me think of missionaries. They go to great lengths to spread the word of God, giving testimony as to how He has worked in their lives. They have a profound faith in His sovereignty.
Having met several missionaries, I just feel like they are a chosen people, distinct in some ways from the rest of us because of their focus and devotion to give of themselves unconditionally, go wherever God sends them, and trust in Him completely.
I'm not saying that the rest of us aren't chosen, because we all are. I just mean that it takes a special person to uproot themselves and sometimes their children, leave family, friends, job, material possessions behind and trust fully that what they're doing and where they're going is a response to God's will, and that He will take care of them and all of their needs.
I pray that all of us be open and receptive to what God is calling us to do.
Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.
