A call to love

Today's the big day; not that we'll know for certain by the end of the night, but still, it's the beginning of the end of an event that's consumed our attention for a very long time.
I just urge the Church to act in a way that will set an example for others; not that any of you would be a part of the anger, hostility, violence, or destruction. I just feel like if we consciously wear the full armor of God this week, and be the voice(s) of reason, maybe it will help others cope during this stressful time.

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ's gift.
Ephesians 4:1-7

Please join me this week in praying for humility, gentleness, patience, love, unity, and hope for God's chosen. Let's pray for peace and understanding, asking God to grant us the gifts necessary to stand unified as the body of Christ in showing the world that we stand for love. Above all else, we love our Father and trust in His sovereignty. Then, we love our neighbors as ourselves. We love; we don't hate. Pray for our nation and it's people.
